Oil on Cradled Wooden Panel

This sepia-toned original oil painting of a grassy landscape with water, snow capped mountains, and an old castle in the distance is hand-painted on a 3/4 inch thick cradled wooden panel. The sides of the panel were painted a sepia brown with raw umber oils.

Details and Materials:

-Created with Gamblin oil paints: Raw Umber, Ivory Black, and Titanium White.

-The wooden panel was sealed twice with GAC 100 and primed four times with artist-grade gesso to ensure long-term preservation and prevent discoloration.

-Finished with a protective varnish blend of Gamvar non-yellowing varnish, cold wax medium, and Gamsol, providing a satin finish that enhances the colors without excessive gloss.

-Initialed on the front. Signed, dated, and named on the back.

Artwork comes framed and ready to hang.
